3 av 4 fall rörande diskriminering av kristna i Storbritannien avvisades under tisdagen av Europadomstolen. De tre fall som avvisades handlade om en relationsrådgivare som inte ville erbjuda sina tjänster till homosexuella par, en vigselförrättare som sa att hon inte ville utfärda registrerat partnerskap för homosexuella samt en sjuksköterska som insisterade på att bära ett kors i en kedja runt halsen, vilket gick emot sjukhusets hälso- och säkerhetspolicy. Då deras arbetsgivare inte godtog dessa religiöst grundade skäl vände de sig alltså till Europadomstolen. I alla dessa fall ansåg domstolen att deras arbetsgivare hade all rätt att kräva att de erbjöd sina tjänster till homosexuella par och rättade sig efter de regler kring hygien som sjukhuset förordade. Arbetsplatserna ska alltså inte behöva rätta sig efter deras religiösa tro och hur den tar sig uttryck. Mer information kring fallen går att hitta här.
